ABOUT NCP

According to the clause 11, Chapter I “The Concepts and Principles” of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, the governments adhering to the Guidelines will be implementing them and will encourage the companies to apply them.

The governments will establish National Contact Points that will promote the Guidelines and will act as a forum for discussion of all matters related to the Guidelines.

In addition to that, the Part II, paragraph 1 provides that “Countries adhering to the Guidelines shall set up the National Contact Points to increase the efficiency of the Guidelines by undertaking promotional activities, handling of enquiries and contributing to the resolution of issues that arise due to the implementation of the Guidelines in specific cases. The companies, business associations, trade unions and other non-governmental organizations and stakeholders shall be informed on the availability of such activities.”

The role of the Ukrainian National Contact Point (NCP) is, thus, to increase the efficiency of the Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and to contribute to the resolution of issues related to their implementation.
