According to paragraph 11 in Chapter I. -Concepts and Principles- of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, governments adhering to the Guidelines will implement them and encourage their use. They will establish National Contact Points that promote the Guidelines and act as a forum for discussion of all matters relating to the Guidelines.
Additionally, Part II, para. 1 provides that “Adhering countries shall set up National Contact Points to further the effectiveness of the Guidelines by undertaking promotional activities, handling enquiries and contributing to the resolution of issues that arise relating to the implementation of the Guidelines in specific instances. The business community, worker organisations, other non-governmental organisations and other interested parties shall be informed of the availability of such facilities.”
The role of the Ukraine National Contact Point (NCP) is, thus, to further the effectiveness of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, and to contribute to the resolution of issues relating to their implementation.
